Why not get your team trained at 2/3 (66.66%) of the cost paid by the Government, while you pay ONLY 1/3 (33.33%) from your pocket? The Canada Alberta Job Grants have the following criteria:
- Funding mandatory training. Use the CAJG to fund courses or training that is required for a job.
- Allowing employers to train employed family members. Enables family-owned businesses to access training funds.
- Allowing some business owners to receive funding to train themselves. Supports entrepreneurs to expand their skill set to grow or pivot their business.
- The Trainees must be Canadian Citizens, permanent residents or people protected under the immigration and refugee protection act (Canada), business owners and employed family members. All eligible trainees must be living in Alberta.
- Training must be provided by 3rd party training group.
- Completed within 52 weeks of a year.
- Completed 21 hours or more of training per trainee.
- Government contributes two-thirds of the cost to a maximum of $10,000 per trainee per fiscal year. If hiring and training an unemployed Albertan, up to 100% of training costs could be covered, up to $15,000 per trainee.
- Individual employers will have a cap of $300,000 for the amount of grant funding they can receive per fiscal year.
